Accra just witnessed something extraordinary.
On September 26 and 27, more than 320 young participants from Ghana, Kenya, and Côte d’Ivoire gathered at the Accra Digital Centre for the ENJOY AI 2025 African Open, a two-day celebration of robotics, artificial intelligence, and youth innovation.
With four exciting challenge tracks — Cyber City, Skyline Adventures, Geometric Forest, and Battle of Tribes — the competition turned code into creativity. From programming smart city robots to flying drones and solving spatial logic puzzles, each challenge tested technical ability, imagination, and teamwork. More than just a contest, the African Open became a launchpad for possibility where students turned curiosity into capability and collaboration into confidence.
Alongside the competition, a high-level panel discussion explored Africa’s Robotics Movement, bringing together educators, innovators, and community leaders to discuss how emerging technologies can empower the continent’s next generation.
The event was organized by The MakersPlace, in partnership with Ghana Digital Centres Limited and the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, and was proudly sponsored by WhalesBot, as part of our global mission to support hands-on STEM education and inspire future tech leaders.
With the African Open now complete, the countdown begins for the ENJOY AI 2025 Global Final, taking place December 5–7 in Wuzhen, China, where top teams from every region will come together to showcase their brilliance on a world stage.
